recent correspondance from the field

Washford was good. All the modern transmitters fit into about 10% of the station's area now, so the liberated space is now a tropiquarium. Hence it was pretty surreal in a steamy radio-less room full of nerds, listening to the problems of synchronising medium wave 1930s transmitters (using tuning forks actually) while the alligators and turtles thrashed.
